The R80188 is a highly-integrated microprocessor with an 8-bit data bus interface and a 16-bit internal architecture for high performance. It effectively combines 15-20 of the most common IAPX 86 system components onto one. The 8 MHz R80188 provides two times greater throughput than the standard 5MHz 8088. The R80188 is upward compatible with 8086 and 8088 software and adds 10 new instruction types to the existing set. The R80188 comes in a 68-pin package and requires a single +5V power supply.
